Multicolor quilt with pink pattern backing. Two patches on the front are lost due to age. Intiials J.W.H. present. Some small staining to the back. Hand-embroidered equestrian scene (horse and rider) and the dense, overlapping feather stitches framing the patches are textbook examples of “fancywork” championed by upper-class Victorian women during the 1880s.
