Featuring ornate, embossed leather. Deeply geometric and gothic-inspired scrollwork tooled into the brown cover. Decorative brass hinge latch to hold the thick album closed. Four raised ceramic feet protect the cover from surface wear - one missing. Page edges are gilded and show floral gauffering. Album bosses. Protective Feet. 7/8 present on album. Mid-to-late Victorian Era, roughly between the 1860s-1880s. Includes tintypes and carte-de-visite photographs. American Civil War Era - Gilded 1880s. Original 19th-century photographs.
Decorative Historical Object. Outdoor Scene. Tintypes. CDV. Completely intact exterior spine. Binding is cracking inside at the bottom but currently intact. Interior spine seems to be pulling from binding and should be handled with care. Fully intact brass latch. There are 2 torn photo slots and some missing photographs. Discoloration and foxing Present. Distress to end papers. 43 tintypes and CDVs total - mostly tintypes.
