Antique (1890s) Victorian Folk Art Decoupage Glass Tray.
Adorned with cigar bands, tobacco labels, and a central woman’s portrait. Emerged as a popular American and European folk art hobby during the late 19th and early 20th centuries (circa 1890-1910). Makers used a method called reverse decoupage (or poticomanie).
Victorian Era. Top left corner there is chipping to the edge and the green felt is pulling away slightly. No cracks. Green felt bottom. Ornate, colorful paper lithograph bands were glued face-down onto the underside of the clear glass tray.
