Popular style of American folk art from the Art Nouveau era at the turn of the 20th century. Made using pyrography, commonly called “wood burning” or “poker work”. Dark background details and lines were etched into the wood with hot metal tools.
Pyrography box is in good antique condition. Poinsettia Floral Motif. Signed on the bottom “Compliments of Mr. & Mrs. H. E. Rich Bath, N.Y. 1909” Flemish 952 Art. Age appropriate distress + discoloration.
