Vintage (1920's) Horse Red work Embroidery on Quilted Fabric Square.
Redwork is a traditional American needlework style popular from around 1885 to 1925, characterized by using a single color thread (usually a colorfast red dye known as “Turkey Red”) to outline designs on a light-colored, often white or off-white, background fabric.
The square is stapled to carboard backing. Would be cute framed as artwork. Some loss of thread present.
