Signatures. Each block features a white center patch containing hand-embroidered names of friends, family members, or community groups. Block Design. Pattern showcases classic octagonal or elongated diamond-centered blocks with colorful patterned fabric borders, historically common in the mid-20th century. Features multi-colored fabric like dark grey, black, yellow, light blue and pink. Signature threads in multiple colors.
One square has loss at the one edge. Loss to one naming block. Overall in goof vintage condition. Found in as-is condition in Pennsylvania. These quilts were traditionally created to commemorate a major milestone - such as a wedding, retirement, or moving away - or as a community charity fundraiser where individuals paid a small fee to have their name included. Signatures are embroidered in elegant cursive and rendered using a classic stem stitch or backstitch technique.
