Likely from the 1920s to the 1930s. Cabbage Rose Wreath on a dark background is a quintessential early 20th-century American folk art motif. Round hooked rugs became highly popular during the Arts and Crafts and late Victorian design eras.
Victorian Era rug shows wear. Notably around the edges. There is thinning and loss present throughout. Rug still in solid condition. Burlap backing reinforces the edges on the underside. Visible fading of the black background into a charcoal gray, along with the separation and fraying of the burlap backing along the top edge, is highly consistent with a century of use and natural textile aging.
