Vintage (1930s) Double Irish Chain Quilt Top.
Beautiful Traditional Textile. Classic pattern recognized by its interlocking pairs of diagonal fabric square chains that cross over each other to form a series of open diamond windows. Styled as a two-color variant featuring bright yellow-and-white checkerboard chains set against a solid pastel blue background. Individual solid fabric squares stitched together. Unlined, unfinished quilt top. Raw, hand-pressed seam allowances are completely visible.
Staining throughout. No rips or tears. Structurally Sound. Found in as-is condition in Pennsylvania. Design relies on an alternating two-block grid system. Double Irish Chain uses a parallel, tow-square-wide track that gives the pattern its signature interwoven lattice appearance. Handmade Integrity. Some fraying to edges. Slight fraying and the charming irregularity of the hand-cut fabric patches along the edges, confirming this was entirely constructed by an individual maker.
