Vintage (1930s) Drunkards Path Hand + Machine Stitched Quilt.
Variation of the traditional Drunkard’s Path block, a classic American patchwork pattern known for its interlocking curved shapes. Drunkard’s Path block is composed of a quarter-circle pieced into a L-shaped background square. Rotating and arranging these simple two-piece blocks in specific configurations, quilters can create entirely different visual layouts.
Beautiful yellow + white pattern. Backing is white. The stitching seems to be a mixture of hand + machine sewn. One small stain on the front, pictured. Flanked by solid borders. Dense, crinkled texture suggests it has been traditionally quilted and washed - when I acquired this the previous owner had just washed and air dried the piece.
