Iconic design in traditional American quilting history. This particular style is also widely known as the Star of Bethlehem or Mathematical Star. Characterized by a central eight-pointed star composed of numerous small, interlocking diamond-shaped patches radiating outward from the center.
There is staining + discoloration throughout. No rips or tears. Features a two-toned pastel palette - cream diamonds contrasted against a solid white background. Heavily framed with dense, decorative hand-quilting stitches filling the large white corner blocks and borders. Found in as-is condition in upstate New York.
