In good vintage condition. Artist is Grace Alice Gassert from when she was studying at the Philadelphia Museum School of Industrial Art in the 1930s - now known as the University of the Arts. Horizontal reference line is drawn right behind the back of the man’s neck. Sketch is part of a series of practice pad drawings. Her early graphite illustrations from the 1930s frequently captured everyday life, human figures, and still lifes with a distinct, expressive hand.
