Panels dedicated to Moather and sister and showcases areas of Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina. Satin panels feature U.S. Army and Marine Corps. Backs of the quilt is constructed entirely from a solid, blush-pink satin fabric. World War I Era (1917-1918). Highly specialized, cross-collectible militaria and homefront folk art. Panels from World War II included making this a multi-generational heirloom. Likely documenting the family's service records across both World Wars.
Staining present throughout. Age appropriate wear. Structurally Sound. Found in as-is condition in Pennsylvania. Duct tape on the back with words "Please Don't Touch" written in ink and has been adhered for decades - I have note removed it due to possible damage to textile once removed. Patriotic WWI Silk US Marine Corps + Army Quilt. Wonderful. Patriotic. Machine Stitched quilt using silk souvenir pillow cases and cotton // silk material as dividers. Includes AEF for American Expeditionary Force. Some color runs + wear.
