Vintage (1940's) Hand Embroidered Arts and Crafts Art Nouveau Style Pillow Cover With Down Pillow.
The style is characterized by the stylized natural forms and sinuous lines, often referred to as the “whiplash” curve, which was a popular decorative motif around the turn of the 20th century. The embroidery features three central flowers with yellow centers and flowing green leaves and stems.
There is loss of thread in two places - notably the top of one flower and leaves of another on the opposite side. Light staining is present. There are two small holes. Includes goose down pillow inside that was acquired with the cover.
