Vintage (1940s) Rhododendron Floral Applique Quilt.
Originating from a popular 1940s Progress Kit Pattern (Specifically Kit No. 1390). Features stylized Pink rhododendron floral clusters with yellow centers, framed by deep green leaves and structured, arching Brown stems.
Some stains, see photographs. Found in as-is condition in Pennsylvania. No rips or tears. Background is set against a cristp white or cream background accented with dense, uniform grid hand-quilting and center-medallion floral quilting textures. Specific pastel pink, solid forest green, and chocolate brown colors are highly characteristic of the mid-century cotton solids popular in post-WWII textile manufacturing.
