Unique flatwoven textile hand-crafted in the Siirt region of southeastern Anatolia, Turkey. Central diamond medallion and crisp weave structure typical of an authentic Siirt Blanket Kilim from southeaster Anatolia. Central stepped diamond // baklava motif - is a hallmark of regional tribal flatweaves, often serving as a protective symbol in Anatolian weaving traditions. Natural Fibers. Fuzzy, slightly textured wool and mohair mix.
Age appropriate distress + discoloration present. Thread showing in places and loose threads, notably to the edges. Some fringe missing. Found in as-is condition in Pennsylvania. Flat woven Turkish Kilim Rug. Featuring a brown, cream, and dark brown medallion. Traditionally hand-loomed using a blend of natural, undyed mohair and local sheep's wool, this textile showcases rich earthy gradients of chocolate browns, creams, and deep blacks. Texture Is Coarse.
