Vintage (1973) Signed + Dated Embroidered Alphabet Patchwork Quilt - A.C.T.
Featuring embroidered alphabet letters from A to Z alongside matching illustrations on a checkered peach and cream background. Quilt features the 1945 Kate Marchbanks ABC Alphabet Embroidery Pattern. First published on January 14, 1945, this classic mid-century nursery design was widely distributed as an iron-on hot-transfer pattern for making baby quilts, pillows, and fabric soft books.
Age-related staining throughout. one Tear. Found in as-is condition in Pennsylvania. Back of the quilt shows a solid peach fabric backing featuring an intricate, hand-stitched floral medallion and wreath quilting pattern layered over the background grid. While the basic filler is a cross-hatch diamond design, visible stitched outlines of flowers, leaves, and circular wreaths stitched directly into the plain panels.
