Hardcover version with a decorative cloth binding, in a shade of green, featuring gilt floral designs in the Art Nouveau style created by artist and book cover designer Sarah Wyman Whitman. The book contains illustrations and color plates by the American Impressionist painters Childe Hassam, who was a friend of Thaxter and spent summers at her family’s hotel on Appledore Island.
The vintage book is in good condition with tight binding and clean pages. It is a reprint of the original version from 1894. The book is bound upside down in the cover.
